Obama – Super Fly – 9:45 A.M. Friday October 8th 2010
He wasn’t excited about this meeting with David Axelrod and his personal stylist, but he entertained their request. The small man that made the President look good slipped off the President's suit jacket. He turned to his large case full of garments sized perfectly for the President and appeared to scratch his head. You see, most Democrat presidents in recent history have had a fashion statement that they started. When Kennedy was in office, it was the white turtleneck with a tux. Johnson had his big Texas style hat and Jimmy Carter; well Jimmy had his sweater vest with blue jeans that he wore quite often in the Oval Office. Finally, Billy Boy Clinton was credited for reintroducing the polka dot tie.
Unfortunately, for the fashionistas on the left, this president had left them rudderless, while wandering aimlessly in a sea of fads. After a few more moments the expert pulled out a three piece suit, vest and all. The president quickly slipped on the suit behind a portable divider and stepped out with a big smile on his face. It felt good, he felt good and he thought he looked good, but a grim look came over David, the supposed marketing expert. At first glance, which David always used as a key indicator, he saw an African blood-diamond merchant in the heart of London and all he needed now was a case full of diamonds handcuffed to his wrist and case handle.
David couldn’t tell the President what he really thought, but he still felt it, while he instructed the little man to try something else as the 616th day of the Obama Presidency looked over the assorted Super Fly suits with great interest.
